  • The global prevalence of child sexual abuse has been estimated at 19.7% for females and 7.9% for males.
  • 90% of child sexual abuse victims know their abusers.
  • Most molestations of children occurs in a residence, typically that of the victim or perpetrator (84% for children under age 12).
  • About 1 in 10 children experience child sexual abuse before they turn 18.

What is education deprivation?

Education deprivation addresses the distress in education, skills & training in a local area.

How to identify an educational deprived?

The indicators are divided into two sub domains. First, deprivation of education among children/ young people in an area. Second, deprivation of skills and qualifications among the working age adult population.

The educational deprivation indicator measures the available resources for children’s learning. A fifteen year old child is considered deprived when they have less than four of eight basic items which include a study table, a place to work, a computer system for school work, educational software, an internet connection, a calculator, a dictionary and school books.
